Scrap Tires Shredding
In West Bank, approximately one million waste tires are generated annually. Waste tires that are illegally dumped or improperly stored can pose a serious threat to public health and safety, as well as to the environment. The result can be urban blight and significant costs to residents. Waste tires can serve as a nesting area for pests and a breeding ground for mosquitoes which can spread encephalitis and other illnesses. According to the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics about 350 persons die annually in addition to more than 5000 injuries because of traffic accidents. GIS-Based Automated Accident Mapping System
Road safety can only be improved when we understand the causes and consequences of road accidents/collisions. Analyzing the causes and consequences of collisions are important to work out remedial measures. Therefore, there is a real need to keep a database that should be planned, designed and implemented according to new standards and tools that include Global Positioning System (GPS) and GIS. The GPS technology will enable the traffic police to map easily, quickly and accurately locations of accidents to be fully integrated with the GIS technology.......more
